Trade Union Rights and Transition Profiles

The capacity of workers and trade unions to engage in meaningful workplace actions to protect themselves and their communities depends on their abilility to participate in decision making through trade union representation along with their employer representatives.

In addition, the quality of any workplace and community participation by workers will depend on the degree of socio-economic security they experience in their daily lives, and which is related to the quality of their employment and the income they derive from it.

These Profiles are produced as a cross-cutting element for all other profiles and aim to document the barriers to or elements that could foster trade union participation and Decent Employment.
